Motherhood started when I didn't even know it. We had been trying for awhile and started to see a fertility doctor. While in that whole process, I found out that I conceived on my own. I still continued to be monitored by Dr. Andrerson though as my body had some issues. Throughout the entire pregnancy there were many ups and downs with medical issues. Baby Hoffman had a kidney issue, I had a kidney issue and so on. This is all when motherhood started for me. I would do anything to protect and take care of this child. I was on bedrest at home and at Saddleback Hospital. Evan Matthew Hoffman came 6 weeks early. We were not even ready. The three showers and baby classes all had to be canceled. But when I held precious Evan, all was forgotten. Who needed anything but I had my baby. Mr. Wonderful is now 3 months old and we continue to have had some bumps in the road. He lost a lot of weight the first week and we were back at CHOC in Mission Viejo for some testing. We had special orders to stay in the house for two months. He had to have bloodwork daily due to a bad case of jaundice. Also poor little guy had a few ultrasounds on his kidney and testicles. Today we were at CHOC again for a special kidney procedure called a VCUG. Next week we see a pediatric urologist.

All this and more is Motherhood. I will do anything to take care of the one who made me a mother.

When Evan came into my life, he has brought me a world of joy, laughter, surprises.

Motherhood is going to be filled with warmth and love and started before I knew....

I can't believe we both share similar experiences! :) I also had a hard time getting pregnant that the fertility doctor was shocked to discover that I was able to get pregnant on my own before starting the fertility treatments. I had a high-risk pregnancy, put on bedrest for a week, and my work schedule was reduced until Jackson was due. Jackson was delivered by emergency c-section two weeks before his due date.
