I'm a 46 yr old mother of 6, (yes 6). My oldest is 21, and my youngest is 3. I've been doing this since 1997. I opened a "make and paint" your own ceramic shop in Rancho Santa Margarita in 1998. That's when I started doing the handprints in clay. I closed shop, and moved to Irvine in 2005. I work from my home now.
I do heirloom quality hand and footprint keepsakes of all kinds; ornaments, plaques, windchimes, vases, mugs, plates, frames, and garden stepping stones. I am a professional ceramist. I throw pottery on the wheel, sculpt, handbuilt, do all the glazing and firing. I have 2 kilns.
My company is located in Irvine right off the 5 freeway at Jeffrey. 20 Lincoln, Irvine CA 92604
I work by appointment M-F 10am-4pm and Saturday and Sunday. I do take evening appointments.
I also make 3D OUTPRINT plaques and ornaments, where the print comes OUT.
I developed a "Prints by Mail" kit so people could have this done who live far away. It took me a year to develop. My mail order site is http://www.etsy.com/shop/handprintlady
I taught ceramics for the last 10 years to children and adults of all ages.
I just started a line of personalized porcelain ornaments also on my mail order site. I've done pet memorial stones, and family garden scripture stones.
My mission is to help families preserved memories. This came as I was asked many times to do something for families that were losing, lost, or about to lose a loved one, myself included. When my mother was diagnosed with cancer, I wanted to do a plaque with her handprint before she died. Unfortunately, she died before I could do that, as she lived 400 miles away. All I wanted was something tangible I could touch and hold to remember her. Years later my best friend had an aging mother, and before she died, I was able to do a print for her and him. I was recently contacted by a mother whose baby had a fatal defect, and would die shortly after birth. She was able to get my kit and do his prints in the hospital before he passed away. Last week, I did a hospital visit for a little girl whose prognosis had gotten very bad and was not going to last very much longer. I was able to do a plaque with all her siblings with her, and make master molds of her handprints just in case her family needed anything later. Last month, a woman contacted me whose husband is diagnosed with brain cancer, and has 6-8 months to live, and she wants to do a large stepping stone with her hands and his. This is why I do this.
My phone number is 949-257-9176.
