Favorite Feeding Product- BEABA Babycook

I decided early on I wanted to try to make my own baby food. I started feeding my daughter solids at 6 months, and this little device makes it so easy. Luckily, I received it as a gift from a mom, otherwise, I probably would not have spent that much money and just got a food processor. I like how it has the steamer and processor in one which makes for an easy clean up.

Here is the description from Williams-Sonoma:

From the French company renowned throughout Europe for baby food–related products, this compact countertop appliance makes it easy to prepare fresh, healthy meals for baby – from start to finish.

I also love the freezer containers they sell. The silicone material makes it easy to pop the frozen food out.

It's easy to treat your baby to a variety of healthy homemade meals with the aid of this convenient silicone container designed in France. Just fill each of the seven 2-oz. cups with your little diner's favorite sweet or savory foods, then pop the tray into the freezer. The airtight plastic lid preserves fresh flavors, textures and nutrients. When it's time to eat, the individual frozen portions slip right out, ready to be reheated in your Babycook or microwave. BPA-free. Microwavable and dishwasher safe. 8 1/4" diam.

It only comes with a booklet with about 5 recipes. I kind of make up my own concoctions, but Williams Sonoma sells a recipe book as well. The bookstore has a variety of books as well.

Does it come with recipes? I'm ready to go buy it but want to make sure it comes with recipes. If not, do you use a particular cookbook that works best?

Alex is just starting solids, and I was looking into getting this because it just sounds so wonderful to have one machine that does the steaming and pureeing...and it looks like this one even does the warming! Albeebaby.com has a 20% off any regular priced item coupon code (20off), so this would be $119.99 (plus free shipping), the lowest price I've seen online. I don't know how long the coupon is good for though.

My friend that has twins LOVES that thing. I just use the plain old Cuisinart. It does the job, but Babycook looks so cool. Maybe for our next kid! :)

oh Shannon! I so wanted this product, but the price did prevent me! I do my own baby food too and can see how this must be a dream. At the moment I use my rice cooker (it has a steam basket) and my mini cuisinart blender. It does the trick. I would say that someone was very clever to think of this product!
