You know you are fully entrenched in motherhood when you start replacing your favorite music for some of the cartoon theme songs. I like to sing to myself when I workout. I kind of get that Rocky Balboa theme song going on when I’m really motivated at the gym. I’m going to show my age when I tell you all that I also like to rock out to Snoop…

When I first got pregnant with my daughter, I was determined to stay in shape. I wanted to be able to jump right back into my pre-pregnancy clothes after she was born. I felt like I ate pretty healthy in my first trimester and I continued with my rigorous workout routine of gym time and ashtanga yoga (although I will admit there were a few more trips to the bagel shop than normal….. and maybe a few…

I sleep trained my daughter and it sort of worked. Then we went on vacation and everything flopped. I tried to sleep train her again and she threw up from crying. That's when I said "enough". However, I have had many friends who had great success with sleep training. And some who had babies like mine and it didn't work
I support both sides of "no cry" and "let cry". I think each baby is different and every parent needs to make their own decision based on child temperment,…

I’ve always enjoyed listening to my daughter’s language develop. It is the sweetest thing to watch her start sounding things out, repeating after me and identifying objects with a name. When she was about 4-5 months old her language started with the famous “raspberries” (this is that heart melting moment for most new moms- hearing the raspberries). Those were my favorite. She then moved on to…

I thought all babies like the car? I have heard of people driving their kids around in the car to get them to sleep. Well, the car was not a favorite in our house for a long time. Driving to the store, dry cleaners or just to get gas was a struggle. Last September we had a five hour road trip planned. I had to figure out how we were going to get through this drive, seeing that a five minute drive was tough.
Someone recommended that we purchase a DVD player for the…

It’s interesting that I am pregnant again after only 10 months since the birth of my daughter. Especially since I remember specifically saying at one point, “I am never doing this again!” ( I left a few ‘not-so-nice’ words out of that phrase for the sake of keeping this post PG rated).
But…

Before having kids, my car was always clean! I always felt that how one maintained their car was a direct reflection of how well the rest of their life was maintained. It bugged me when I would have an unexpected guest enter my car, only to find papers scattered on the floor. I washed my car weekly and followed a strict regular maintenance plan.…

I used to think it was weird when some of my friends’ parents used to call each other “mom” and “dad”. I thought, “is this what marriages come to after kids? You call your partner, the love of your life, the same name as the person who used to discipline you as a child?” It just seemed so “unromantic”, and gave all appearances of a relationship that only exists to parent their children. I always…

One would quickly become suspicious upon entering our house these days. The wine bottles stay full and the cookie jar is empty. So I couldn’t keep our secret for too long before I would be discovered. On February 8th, we learned that we are expecting our second child!
We decided at…
