I was recently at a Lactation Conference where one of the speakers presented this fabulous information, about 9 instinctive stages that every baby goes through immediately after birth. I was so blown away by the video, as I see get the privilege of seeing this on a daily basis, that I had to write a blog about it. To read about these very important stages visit the below link.

I am so excited to introduce and support this fantastic breastfeeding tool that is not only beneficial but stylish too. Best part is that it is tax deductible for you and you get to help design this beautiful piece of jewelery.
As functional as it is stylish, this breastfeeding tool enables new mothers to keep track of each feeding session. I know the importance of breastfeeding, and the benefits that go along with it. Believe me, I understand that a new mother may seem overwhelmed at…Continue

Skin-to-skin or kangaroo care is one of natures most powerful tools for the initial care of a newborn. The benefits to both mother and baby are numerous, and in many scenarios proves to be life saving, as was seen in the dramatic story stated in the article linked below. It is a story of how placing a new baby on his mother's chest literally saved her life. It's a powerful story yet something that is also just as powerful for each of us to do with our new babies.
Skin-to-skin care is…Continue

Now that I'm 20 weeks pregnant with my second child, I decided it was time to start shopping around for the necessities. I breastfeed my son, Colin, for 13 months and rarely gave him a bottle. This time around I hope to get the baby used to a bottle early, so I can leave the house for a few hours without the worry of making…Continue
Ok, I know I am getting ahead of myself here seeing that it's not even September yet. But knowing I have a c-section planned in October, I felt the need to get ready for Halloween NOW.... I don't want to go into labor early and have no time to get my kids Halloween costumes. So guess what, I've already ordered them! Reagan's FAVORITE character is Minnie Mouse so of course, that's what she is going to be this year. And, with a newborn on the way, I decided our newest will be…Continue
When I first got pregnant with my daughter, I was determined to stay in shape. I wanted to be able to jump right back into my pre-pregnancy clothes after she was born. I felt like I ate pretty healthy in my first trimester and I continued with my rigorous workout routine of gym time and ashtanga yoga (although I will admit there were a few more trips to the bagel shop than normal….. and maybe a few…Continue
I thought all babies like the car? I have heard of people driving their kids around in the car to get them to sleep. Well, the car was not a favorite in our house for a long time. Driving to the store, dry cleaners or just to get gas was a struggle. Last September we had a five hour road trip planned. I had to figure out how we were going to get through this drive, seeing that a five minute drive was tough.
Someone recommended that we purchase a DVD player for the…Continue
It’s interesting that I am pregnant again after only 10 months since the birth of my daughter. Especially since I remember specifically saying at one point, “I am never doing this again!” ( I left a few ‘not-so-nice’ words out of that phrase for the sake of keeping this post PG rated).
Next week, our OC Mommies groups will be attending a one of a kind workshop from Suzie Bennett, a Certified “Happiest Baby on the Block” Educator. Our workshop will include strategies and techniques for calming and soothing newborns. In…Continue
At Reagan’s 4-week check up, her pediatrician said to me, “oh, and watch for colic, it peaks at about 6 weeks”. I thought to myself, “nah, not my daughter, she’s an easy baby”. Well…..6 weeks on the dot, colic ws in full force and it got progressively worse as the weeks went on.
