Life Factory Water and Baby Bottles - Hot New Green Baby Product!

Now that I'm 20 weeks pregnant with my second child, I decided it was time to start shopping around for the necessities. I breastfeed my son, Colin, for 13 months and rarely gave him a bottle. This time around I hope to get the baby used to a bottle early, so I can leave the house for a few hours without the worry of making…

Most Memorable First...

Although there have been many memorable firsts over the past 10 months...the first time I saw Kevin's face, his first smile, etc, etc...and even before that...the first time I saw his picture on that screen or found out that he was a boy...or the first time I felt his little flutters...I'll try to keep this sap-free and tell you about when I first realized that I was pregnant...

I think for you to really appreciate this story I have to give you a bit of background.…

Toddler Won't Nap

It’s 6:00am, I’m awake. I shouldn’t be, but I can’t sleep. Partly because of all of those late night contractions that are keeping me up, but the other reason is, I am so used to getting up all throughout the night with my daughter, so when she slept through the night for one of the first times in over….oh let’s count…540 days, it’s a little bit of…

Most Memorable First: Mommy, princesses are for GIRLS!

Last October, my then-2-year-old son Takeo visited Disneyland with my niece Sachi, his cousin/BFF. We stood in line for an hour at the Princess Faire so that Sachi could meet her favorite characters. Takeo had never seen the princesses before nor did he know any of the princess stories, but as long as Sachi was going, hey! That's all that really mattered. :)

When we got in view of the first princess, my sister-in-law and I noticed that the first up was Cinderella. Sachi was…

Up! Up! -- Most Memorable First

As soon as Cordelia could hold her head up we put her in the exersaucer (she is a long (tall) baby so her feet touching was not a concern) and she LOVED(S) it. That was about 3 months ago and to this day it is our morning routine to wake up, change her diaper, feed her and then she goes right into the saucer so I can make coffee and clean the kitchen. It is wonderful, I know that she is contained and happy for at least 20 minutes. When she starts to get fussy I walk over and reach my arms down… Continue

Patience (or the Lack Thereof)

One might not believe it the way I complain sometimes, but I absolutely love being a mom. Although I do work a few hours a week, I'm blessed to have a situation where I can be home with my 3 year old and 8 month old boys during all their waking hours. Unfortunately, over the last weeks, I've been having entirely too much difficulty keeping my patience with my older one. I'm not talking the usual frustration you cover up with a smile while gritting your teeth, I mean full-on losing my…

Sleep Over

My son goes to a great school in Laguna Canyon (many of you probably know the one). He turned 4 the end of July and has been attending nursery and now pre-school on campus since he was about 2. Tonight is his first sleep over and I am a hot mess. The school hosts sleepovers every other month or so. You drop your kids off at 6PM and they can stay until noon on Saturday for $50.00. Not bad considering I typically pay that for a babysitter for 4 hours out. The sleep over is attended by approx 30… Continue

Join a Moms Group/Club in Orange County

(Warning, this post will be a little scattered.. My daughter was up from 1:00am-6:00am last night so we are running on little fumes.. and I'm not checking for spelling. sorry).

Who in a million years thought that I would be engaging in a social media website to "meet people". And I'm not even looking for a date.... I'm looking for friends (sounds even more weird!) I get on the computer a few times a week, engage in some hilarious conversations, share helpful tips and plan…

"most memorable first" "you are pregnant"

In Oct 2008, I discovered a lump on the base of my throat, after having dealt with a nagging sore throat I finally got in to see an ENT. Several tests later I was diagnosed with a granular tumor on my pharynx. I also have polycystitic fibroid disease, at 19 I had 1 ovarie removed completely and I was told 2 tumors for the most part shut down my other ovary. I was told I would never have kids, but was on birth control to regulate the minimal period that I had.

Anyway after going… Continue

South Coast Music Together- Orange County

A few times a year, our moms have the unique opportunity to participate in a wonderful music program in Orange County called Music Together, hosted by the South Coast Music Together Program (thank you to Judy Woodson, director, for opening demostration classes for our moms). I've always been told, if there are two programs you want to have your kids in at an early age, it's music and swim.…

"most memorable first" - Sometimes you just need your Mommy

This is a recent one for me, but made my heart skip a beat more than others so far. Laurin is nearly 6 months old now, and has been reaching out to grab things for sometime now...its random, silk flowers, animals, books, Grandma's necklace, Daddy's glasses and so on.

On top of everything else she's doing, she's also got 2 teeth coming in and has her teething fits in the afternoons mostly. A few weekends ago we were at my Mom's for an over nighter when one of her teething episodes hit.… Continue
