Infants Who Will Only Sleep on Their Stomach-Tummy Sleeping-Is It Safe?
In the late 90s the American Academy of Pediatrics started recommending that parents ALWAYS put their babies to sleep on their backs in an attempt to reduce the risk of SIDS. As one article, A Quite Revolt Against the Rules on SIDS" by Brian Baiker points out, before that recommendation "70 percent of infants in the United States were sleeping on their stomachs. By 2002, that figure had plummeted to 11.3…

The Ultimate Power Toddler Smoothie - Recipe
Colin, my 2- yr old son, has always been a fan of smoothies. He loves watching me make them, and pushing the buttons on the blender. Colin is a really good eater, but he does have his days where he won't touch his veggies. Little does he know, I add lots of super, healthy ingredients to make this smoothie a perfect meal. Smoothies are a great way to add veggies, omega 3's and protein into your little ones diet. It's so yummy you will want to have some too!!!

Risks Associated with Uploading Photos of Children using SmartPhones
I know a few moms that flat out refuse to post any photos of their children online. I am not of that camp, but I am all about being highly educated on relevant technology so that I know I'm not doing something flat-out dangerous. So here's my tip for the day: If you take photos of your children using a smartphone, be sure to disengage GPS.…

Exercise in Pregnancy Means Healthier Heart for Baby
One of the great things about pregnancy is that it offers a seemingly plausible excuse to indulge — eat a little more dessert (why not, when you're going to gain so much weight anyway) and dial down that hard-core exercise regimen (see first parenthetical). But new research upends that mindset, showing that exercise during pregnancy can actually result in a healthier baby.

To VBAC or Not?
After having an unplanned c-section with my first child, I knew immediately when I got pregnant with my second I would try for a VBAC. I personally felt this was important to me, my baby and the hopes for a speedy recovery to take care of my family. I luckily was able to have a successful VBAC with my daughter, Emmie, and boy was it worth it!! Absolutely amazing experience ... even after 20 hrs of back labor!
There is so much negative attention surrounding VBAC's, when in…

"Your Baby Can Read"- Does It Work?
There has been a lot of talk about the program "Your Baby Can Read". Some of our moms swear by it and some say it didn't do a thing for their child except give them hours of TV time. Here is an interesting article posted by Today Money.
The experts in this discussion all say that "Your Baby Can Read" is just a memorization game of words and that the infant/toddler brain just isn't developed enough to grasp the concept of reading. They go…
