Why it's Not a Good Idea to Let Bad Behavior Go

Posted on October 9, 2012 at 4:56pm 0 Comments

Sometimes parents try to ignore their child’s bad behavior hoping it will just go away.  Sometimes they believe the bad behavior is acceptable because their child is tired, sick, young. Sometimes parents are too tired to deal with their child’s bad behavior.

The trouble is that things can get worse. Giving in when your child has a tantrum teaches your child that they can cry and misbehave to get what they want. They may end up being the child who screams at and/or bullies…

Are parents still using spanking to manage their child's behavior?

Hi Mary,

I'm a clinical psychologist working in Irvine and am looking to network with other individuals in my field and learn more about the various organizations in the area.  I similarly specialize in children and teens (more specifically, anxiety, ADHD and behavioral problems, autism, and eating disorders). I'd love to take you out for coffee or lunch if you have time and are interested.

Thanks, and hope you're doing well! :)

Sivan
