The Dana Point Festival of Whales is one of Southern California’s largest seafaring celebrations and reaches out to whale admirers around the world.  Dana Point is teeming with festivities every winter during this special time of year, offering something for everyone.  The Festival draws nearly 100,000 visitors each year.

Festival highlights include an opening day parade, Whale of a Block Party, art exhibits, classic car exhibits, paddling events, sand sculpting, concerts on land and water, environmental activities, educational opportunities, interpretive crafts, kids activities, and of course, whale watching excursions on a variety of vessels or whale watching from breathtaking Dana Point Headlands Conservation Park
                     California Wine Festival- April
Wine, food, music, sun and sea. Experience the quintessential California wine tasting and enjoy hundreds of California's finest vintage wines, delicious gourmet foods and lively music. Discover new wines at every Festival, find a new favorite and pair it with a dizzying variety of fresh gourmet appetizers like artisan breads, cheeses, olive oils and so much more.                         Newport Beach Film Festival, April-May
 

Set in beautiful Newport Beach, a few blocks away from spectacular coastline and less than an hour from Hollywood, the Festival annually hosts several premieres and galas for a singular festival experience. Films will be shown throughout the city that boasts one of the largest movie consumer groups in the world, a rich filmmaking history as well as fine dining, shopping, and exceptional recreational activities.

In addition, the Newport Beach Film Festival offers filmgoers a rare opportunity to meet the filmmakers. Directors, screenwriters and cinematographers eager to share their work will provide an exclusive inside look at the industry during post-screening Q&A’s.

 

 

Soka Annual International Festival- May

Soka University will celebrate the 12th Annual Internation

al Festival from 10:30 am to 5:30 pm on Saturday, May 4, 2013. Enjoy an expected 900 musicians and dancers performing on three stages and over 250 non-profit, craft and business exhibitors.  The 2013 International Festival will again be part of the Orange County's Imagination Celebration, presented in cooperation with Arts Orange County and the Orange County Department of Education.  We are grateful to our Presenting Sponsor, The Orange County Register, who will also print the 2013 Festival Program.  There will be lots of international food, exhibitors, games and activities, art exhibitions, ceramic sales and demos, a children's play area with Superslide and Bounce House, student projects --- and much more!   Here's last year's program cover and back (2012) and here's the program inside to give you a feel for what to expect!  We'll post the 2013 program in April 2013.

 


Strawberry Festival- May

 

A four day festival in Garden Grove including carnival rides, contests, food booths, music and live entertainment. Local non-profits and schools are awarded grants and scholarships from the profits of the Strawberry Festival.

 

 

 

 Doheny Blues Festival- May

In 1998, Omega Events launched an annual blues festival at Doheny State Beach in Dana Point Harbor. 13 years later, Omega Events is recognized as one of the nation’s top blues promoters, having been named "Best Promoter" by blues music's premier organization, The Blues Foundation in Memphis, TN.
 
Attendees will enjoy this inviting festival layout, highlighted by three stages of alternating music, an international Food Court, an eclectic Vendor Village with 50+ unique booths, Microbrew Tasting, and our Kidz EcoFest with educational exhibits for the younger music fans.
 
From Grammy winners to music legends, Doheny has been host to many of the top names in rock, soul & blues music, including B.B. King, The Black Crowes, Bonnie Raitt, Crosby, Stills & Nash, John Fogerty, Brian Setzer, Al Green, Etta James, Keb’ Mo’, Jonny Lang and Los Lobos, amongst others.

This fun event hosted by the Monarch Beach Sunrise Rotary Club offers yummy lobster and steak, lively spirits, music and a silent auction benefiting a number charities serving children.

Global Village Festival- September

Irvine Global Village Festival – the City’s largest and most attended community event. Orange Couny Children's Book Festival- September

Come to this amazing book festival offering numerous book and educational vendors. Professional story tellers read their favorite books on various stages. Activities, animal petting, musicians, dancers etc!

Taste of Newport

The Taste of Newport serves up culinary masterpieces from nearly 35 of Newport Beach's finest Restaurants, as well as 15 premium wineries from throughout California, ice cold brews and delicious cocktails. The restaurants are truly spectacular, offering everything from barbeque seared ahi and tiramisu to prime rib and crème brulee. Everyone is sure to find something pleasing to the palette-and a new restaurant to try after the Taste.


CHOC WALK Through the Park, October

Upon arriving at the Disneyland® Resort, you’re greeted with all the magic and wonder of The Happiest Place on Earth. The Walk is a time when families express their thanks to the doctors and nurses that cared for their children, and share their memories with other families.
