Quick Trip or 'Stay-cation' Recommendations
Hi ladies! My husband and I would like to take a quick weekend trip for our anniversary in a few weeks and we're looking for some recommendations. Nothing too expensive and we don't plan on bringing our son so someplace that's not too kid-friendly. We're looking for some straight R&R. A drinks by the pool and a nice dinner type of place .
Last year we went to Palm Springs, but it's the middle of July so it was above 110 degrees and it was too hot to even be in the pool. Has anyone been to a cool place in Catalina? San Diego anywhere? Anywhere they serve drinks by the pool will do. ;)

Oh geez! Its 2 hours north & gorgeous. Just far enough away to feel like you're a million miles away. I have a friend who goes every year for her anniversary & loves it. I'll get reco's from her.

Yeah, Santa Barbara is great for a weekend getaway, by the beach, beautiful, lots of good places to eat, can be pricey interms of hotels.

Terranea Resort & Spa in Palos Verdes is a great place if you don't want to drive too far. They have a great spa and an adult only pool overlooking the ocean. Great restaurants on site too.

check out La Costa resort and spa. not too far and it's gorgeous.
Also if you're into wine tasting, Temecula isn't too far and they have nice hotels and B&B's.
I can vouch for Santa Barbara, I got married there and also lived there during my college years so I know the place well. It is very pretty, touristy and busy on weekends. But definitely a fun romantic place to go if going without the kids.
