I was just wondering what other moms dress their babies in for bedtime.  We have been using the sleepsack for a while now, but it seems to make our little one really hot.  I was thinking of just putting her in a onesie with socks, but am worried she may be too cold.  What do moms of 1 year olds dress their kids in for bed?  When can we start putting a blanket in the crib?

My son is not a toddler yet (10 months) but he has been sleeping in two-piece pj sets or a one-piece with short legs.  Carters has a bunch of 2 or 3 piece sets where the bottoms are either pj pants or shorts.  We used to use a sleepsack but he has eczema and the dr said the sleepsack was adding too many layers and not good for his skin.  So during the cooler months he wore the footed one-piece pjs and now that it's warmer and he's bigger he does the two-piece.  He does not seem cold with the shorts on.  I guess it also depends on how cool or warm the nursery gets.
Since my kids were born (22 months old and 2 month old) I've always put the in the footed sleeps for bedtime. For coolers nights I use the flannel ones and for warmer nights the lighter cotton ones. I love Carters sleepers. Since my older child doesn't keep her blankets on, I hardly use the two piece and non footed stuff. We also run our heater and ac a lot.
I just switched to a 2 piece pj set, he was in footie jams forever. He is 17 months old. But he def does not get too cold  at all! And there is more freedom for him to move around in the 2 piece jams!
old navy has some great, lightweight PJ sets.
second Steph's recommendation - we have Old Navy jammies too.

My LO has slept with a blanket since approx. 2 months. I just tucked it into the sides of the mattress. I also dress her in anything comfy. Shorts & tee, pants and long sleeve tee or footed pj's. She doesn't know how to cover herself yet but she seems to do ok.

For those moms looking for good light weight footed pj's Carter's has them in almost all sizes. My daughter has 2T ones and I know there are 3T & 4T too. If you go to the one at Spectrum you'll usually find them on sale too.

the jammies with feet are great for cool weather but since its been summer i just put my son in a big tshirt and a diaper lol hes had a blankie and two stuffed toys in his crib since about one year old...he just turned 15months yesterday. they make some really cute little shorts/top sets of jammies-some can be pricey but if you catch a sale you can get a great deal!!!
