I am looking for a part time nanny starting January 2011.  I am not sure how to go about this and  what the going rate is.  I would need every Thursday and Friday and  every other Wednesday.  I think on another message board someone suggested using Craig's List.  I would love to have a referral. I am trying to figure out to use a home daycare, nanny or a day care center.  Thanks for your help!

I would suggest to use Sitter City (www.sittercity.com) before Craigslist. I know a few people that have found their nannies on there and LOVE them. They are background checked, some have other qualifications (you can filter the qualities/qualifications you'd like and do a search or just post a job and wait for applications). You can also get references on there and ask for additional info, etc. Then you hold your own interviews. It's a website, yes, but so is this... and I have met a few of the most amazing mommy friends that I know will be lifelong friends... thru this website... :)(I'm just sayin'_)

And I also used SitterCity and found a really good, reliable, sweet, educated part-time sitter that has been working out really well for us for date nights! :)

Good luck! I KNOW it's hard... we have a wonderful nanny now and I feel so lucky. But before we found her (and her son) I seriously didn't think I'd ever find a good fit... but we did:)

Thanks Tatiana for your email.  I will look into it! :)

Hope to see you soon!
