Natural Remedies for Children's Cough
Hi Moms- That nasty cough is going around. I thought I'd share with you an article on using honey to relieve the common cough. As you know, children under the age of 4 cannot take over the counter cough medicine.

Be sure to rule out more serious types of coughs like whooping cough. See your pediatrician if you are concerned.

Be sure to check with your pediatrician before you give your child honey. We have been told to wait until she is 2 & it is even printed on honey jars not to give to children under 2. We are dealing with the cough now & was told to use a cool mist humidifier & vicks.

Honey can be given to children over 12 months since after this age, they are much less likely to succumb to botulinum toxin.
Another recent study showed that Vicks Vaporub helps children breath and sleep better at night in children over 12 months.

We would love to see you! We are taking new patients with PPO insurance and are closed to HMO's.
