What baby carrier is best for 6 months to 1 year olds? We have the Baby Bjorn with back support right now but it's starting to hurt our back (our little guy is 6 months now). We'd like one that can go on the back and front if possible.

I've heard the Ergo is great, but thought I should ask the experts first!

What do you recommend for a carrier now?

Thanks so much!!!

I love my Ergo and Beco Gemini. My little girl went through a phase where she had to forward face out (which I know some moms object too) but if it gets her to stop fussing I'm all for it. :) The Ergo is easier than the Beco for back carry (in my opinion) but the Beco has the option to face outward. The Beco Butterfly 2 is great if you don't mind the internal harness. You should message Giselle B (Granola Babies) she has a store full of carriers in Costa Mesa and is a wealth of knowledge.

Hope this helps!

i love my Ergo! but have to admit, it's only good when your baby can hold their head up. (sounds like you won't have that problem). the great thing about the ergo is that weight limit is pretty high up there. I have a 2 year old who's around 26lbs and i can still use the ergo with her. so you get more use out of it.
Hi Michelle- I have 4 carriers my favorites are like you baby bjorn, plus Ergo, Baby KTan ( check out website grows with child 8-9 positions recommend organic cotton, does not stretch out with weight of baby as much as 100% cotton) any sturdy Ring Sling works fabulously to carry child on hip or tummy to tummy.
